5-2 Blog: Visual Displays Related to Special Events

Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale

When it comes to special events and promotions, Bath & Body Works tops all other retailers. Their big semi-annual sales have people lining up the night before - especially when it comes to their candle day sale. This is the perfect company to discuss for this week's blog on visual displays related to special events! Let's get started.

Buy 3 Get 3 FREE

Their biggest event and promotion is their yearly buy three get three free of EVERYTHING - yes everything - in the store! This sale occurs every year just before Christmas; hence, they can utilize holiday themes for the displays in the store. It is considered their BEST Christmas sale. You can mix and match what items are included in the buy three get three free.
The first image below is the big floor display that you would see right when you walk through the doors of the store. It utilizes two main colors - white and red, staple colors for Christmas. Even the actual product chosen follows this color scheme! The front display is where people typically walk straight to, so this is where the company placed their new seasonal Christmas scent to increase.
This is an important recommendation that I would like to suggest for you. Put your new and/or seasonal product on your front display by the main entrance. When people walk into the store, their eyes are automatically going to go to your first/main display; therefore, it is best to put your new product to push there. Similarly, you could also put a product that is not selling too well in this place instead of increasing those sales and getting rid of that product.

Another aspect that Bath & Bodyworks utilizes for their displays during this event, and many other events, is the color coordination of product displays. This is visually appealing and catches the eye of the consumer. Instead of simply having just one row of a product, they will push it out to several rows to make the color pop more. The rows of a rainbow of color and neat display pulls the customer in to come toward the display. Bath & Bodyworks's foaming soaps are one of their most popular products; therefore, they have created this large display as seen below to show off the product to the customer and make it easier for them to get to and grab. Always always always keep your most popular products easily accessible to the consumer! Especially during a busy promotion like this when the store is going to be incredibly crowded.

6-2 Blog: Preliminary Findings and Limitations

Preliminary Findings and Limitations      Apple has a clear objective for its organization. Their object is something they have spoken on many times, stating that it is to “make great products and services that enrich people's lives and to provide an unparalleled customer experience so that our users are highly satisfied, loyal, and engaged” (Bajpai, 2020). Through the marketing research, I have found that the new Apple smart home security system supports the organization’s objective. External factors such as expanding technology and the need to keep your home safe match the need for a smart home security system. Internal factors would be the loyal customers that the brand already has that follow them through every launch. The marketing research that I have done shows that the smart home security system would enrich the customers’ lives in a way that they would feel safe being in their home or leaving their home because of the advanced technology working to keep them safe.      A b

4-2 Blog: Effectively Impacting the Consumer Through Digital Media

Tale of the Tiger: Customer Service When a stuffed animal is left behind at an airport, adults see no value in it. It simply gets thrown in a lost and found to either be claimed or eventually thrown out. However , to a small child that stuffed animal is their comfort and means the world to them. That is something that Tampa International Airport understood when a little boy left behind his tiny tiger friend. Once the toy tiger was found by the airport’s operation manager, he went above and beyond simply returning the tiger to the rightful owner. Instead, he gave the tiger a little adventure while he waited for his human to return. Once the boy was reunited with his Tiger, he had a book of all the photos to see every adventure the tiger took while he was away. What was done successfully to meet the wants and needs of the target audience? Let’s face it, airports have a bad reputation.   In a post 9/11 world, we are stuck with tight restrictions and security checks – not that this is

6-2 Blog: Marketing Perspective

The Influencer and Marketing In the past, celebrities were defined as larger than life people. They were the people you see on TV and the people you see live in concert. However, the rise in the use of social media created the rise in popularity of regular everyday people. Someone who otherwise, would never have become a celebrity. For instance, David Dobrik. He was a Vine star before that app ceased existing and then transitioned into becoming a YouTube vlogger. He has partnered with and been sponsored by various companies like EA, SeatGeek, Playstation, and Honey – just to name a few. He is what we have come to define as an influencer. As of today, David has 14.4 million followers on Instagram and 18.6 million subscribers on YouTube. If you check out his YouTube channel, he averages anywhere from 10 million to 20 million views PER VIDEO! I have been following David religiously since his Vine days. I think he is funny and brightens my day when I see his posts.  What do I notice about
